Cross stitch heart nail tutorial

Today is going to be another tutorial. This tutorial was inspired my grandma who just recently passed last week. When I was young she used to make me cross stitch pillows. The one I remember the most was blue and white.  So this dedicated in loving memory of her.

Base coat: Nail Tek Foundation II
Base color: Essie - Lapis of Luxury
Design: Daisy Nail Art - 9921 (white)
Top coat: China Glaze - No Chip

1x base coat
3x base color (it was really sheer)

Draw the "x"s to form a heart shape
* no additional tools were used

I hope you guys enjoy! Let me know how everything goes & if you tried it with other colors.
Good luck! Until next time smile; its good for the soul :)

Mermaid Tutorial

Hello my darlings!
So today I thought I would share a tutorial with you. I did this nail look for my best friend before she left for Hawaii for school. Down below are the pictures of the colors I used, the process, and the finished look.

 What you will need:
1. Your choice of nail polishes
2. Make up foundation sponge

(left to right)

Zoya - Miley
OPI - Austin-tatious Turquoise
China Glaze - Deviantly Daring
China Glaze - Rodeo Fanatic
Essie - Dive Bar
CM - Ashy Green (thin design brush)

(left to right)

1. Apply your favorite base coat. (Nail Tek Foundation II)
2. 2x Coats of your base color (Miley)
3. Start gradient effect (sponge method) - color one (Austin-tatious Turquoise)
4. Sponge method - color two (Deviantly Daring)
5. Sponge method - color three (Rodeo Fanatic)
6. Sponge method (Dive Bar)
7. Draw small scales (Ashy Green)
8. Apply your favorite top coat (China Glaze - No Chip)

  • Let the base color dry a little bit - doesn't have to be completely. This prevents the base color from being picked up by the sponge while sponging the next layer
  • If you don't have a nail pen or nail polish with a design brush; pour out a little bit of nail polish & use a tooth pick.
  • Let scales dry before applying top coat or it will smudge or smear the scaled :(

I know used a lot of colors, my best friend & just couldn't decide :) You are more than welcome to use more or less colors. I listed the colors that I used above but you can use whatever colors you have. Be creative. Good luck!! Let me know how it goes! 'Til then smile cause its good for the soul :)

Nail Color of the Week

Hey lovelies!!
So I finally got around to painting my nail while I was procrastinating or "taking a break" from writing my english paper. :]
So as I said from my last blog its one of my new favorite nail polishes, it gives such great coverage and it is a great pop of color. I applies 2 coats, but if you want a more sheer look you can opt out for just 1 coat. Though they say it is a red with a pink undertone with some slight gold shimmer to it. I personally think it is a hot pink with a cool undertone. I would definitely recommend this color to anyone especially if you're not really a pink person, but have always wanted to try it, this has to be the best place to start.
Until next time, smile cause its good for the soul.

The beginning...

Hey everyone!!

So I'm completely new to the blogging world & everything that comes with it, and it been a long request from family and close friends for me to start one. Please bare with me I will get the hang of it soon I hope.. but I do hope to grow & improve as time goes on. A little bit about myself and what this blog will be about I'm just another average dysfunctional girl in the world finding an escape through the beauty scene. I'm in love with colors & I love to play & experiment with anything from make-up, clothes, shoes, nail polishes & everything in between. I intend this blog to be a little insight to my escape into the beauty world, care to join me? Please do :].  I'm completely open to any suggestions & ideas that come my ways. Hopefully I will get the chance post a nail design & a nail polish haul. Til next time! Smile 'cause its good for the soul! Take care.
